Med/Surg RN Job Details - Medford, OR Location: Medford, Oregon 97504 (Southern Oregon nursing jobs) Assignment Type: Locum tenens, Travel Nursing Contract Healthcare Setting: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital Float Pool (Med Surg, Med Tele, Clinical Decision Unit, Inpatient Rehab, Acute Medical) Start Date: September 2, 2025 End Date: December 2, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 5:1 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Charting System: Epic Scrub Color: Any (scrubs provided for select units) Parking: Free on-site parking Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 - $2,070 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting Current BLS and ACLS certifications (NIHSS preferred) Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Strong clinical skills including: blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tube management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, Med/Surg and MS/Tele, non-invasive airway management, ortho trauma, oxygen therapy, PCA, peripheral/PICC line care, post-MI care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, IV starts, surgical drain management, telemetry, total joint replacement care, tracheostomy management, rapid response, and wound care/wound vac Ability to float between multiple units and affiliate hospitals as needed Two recent supervisory references (within the last three years) Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across float pool units Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following hospital policies and nursing standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Accurately document patient care and progress using the Epic EHR system Respond to rapid response and emergency situations as required Maintain flexibility to float to various units and affiliate hospitals Work every other weekend and participate in holiday coverage as needed Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel Med/Surg RN in Medford, Oregon, and take the next step in your nursing career!
