The Carrier Tools and Automation team is responsible for improving all facets of using automation in our Carrier technologies and standards workflows. This includes analyzing the workflows, data and tools that help teams make it an effective, efficient element of their testing strategy. We need a creative leader to help us explore and implement new technologies to continually improve our approach to achieving outstanding quality. You will work closely with other Wireless Technologies Managers and Automation Engineers across Apple to ensure we are putting the best ideas into our solutions. You will be part of all aspects of the development cycle from research, prototyping, development and shipping software to a large group of internal teams. This role is perfect for you if you enjoy collaborating with others and exploring how groundbreaking technology can be used to solve challenging problems for the betterment of many teams. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent-- Masters Degree is preferred. 10-15 years of experience in an Engineering Manager role. 5+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing end-to-end solutions from scratch. Strong development skills in Swift, Objective-C, C++ or similar languages. Solid computer science fundamentals. Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure. Extensive experience leading and growing small-to-medium-sized engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications
Solid understanding on cellular technologies (e.g. 5G SA, NSA, VoLTE, CA/ENDC, etc.) and 3GPP standards a plus. Experience in solving interdisciplinary problems via ML and experience in training AI/ML models. Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies. Ability to lead several concurrent projects. Experience developing software on Apple platforms (Xcode, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS) is preferred but not required. Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes. Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $393,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
