Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.
Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Job Title: VP of Information Technology (onsite)
Job Summary
The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) is a pivotal leader within MHC, responsible for steering the technological direction and ensuring that IT systems are both effective and efficient. They develop and manage the agency's technological infrastructure, implement and maintain critical IT systems, and are responsible for researching new technologies and opportunities for process or system improvements. By leveraging technology solutions, they seek to maximize efficiency and ensure the organization’s operational success. They are responsible for the development and management of the data infrastructure and warehouse. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has three direct reports (two managers and one individual contributor).
- Development and Management of Technological Infrastructure
- Develop and implement robust IT strategies and frameworks aligned with business objectives.
- Managing complex IT systems to ensure their reliability and scalability.
- Overseeing data centers, networks, and server management to maintain seamless connectivity and data integrity.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for enterprise-wide solutions and timelines that optimizes the division and sets the organization up for growth and long-term success
- Implementation and Maintenance of IT Systems: To ensure the agency operates at peak performance, the VP of IT must ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Monitor and analyze technology performance metrics.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of IT systems.
- Implement and manage IT governance frameworks.
- Researching New Technologies: Staying ahead in the technological landscape is crucial.
- The VP of IT should: a) Explore emerging technologies that could offer competitive advantages or process improvements.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the potential impact of new technologies on the agency's operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify technological needs and opportunities. Drive innovation and identify opportunities for technological improvements.
- Ensuring Optimal Operation
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Oversee software development and implementation projects.
- Ensure effective communication between IT and other departments.
- Manage IT risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support digital transformation initiatives.
- Strategies for Maximizing Efficiency
- Design, develop and manage data infrastructure
- Manage the data warehouse and appropriate reports and dashboards
- Support data integration between systems and identify opportunities to streamline data processes
- Design PowerBI dashboards in partnership with agency leaders to provide operational efficiency and feedback
- Satisfy all regulatory reporting requirements at all levels (local, state, federal and other regulatory agencies as needed)
- Power BI knowledge and experience

- Automate repetitive tasks to free up resources for more strategic activities.
- Implement integrated systems that foster communication and collaboration across departments.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements.
- Ensure the scalability and flexibility of IT systems.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department.
- Manage IT budgets and optimize spending.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.
- Collaborate with other executives to align technology initiatives with company goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, Master’s Degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles at least 5 of those leading and developing strategy and teams in senior leadership positions
- Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Experience with IT budgeting and financial management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data security and regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks.
