We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Chief Cyber Security Engineer to join our talented, dynamic team. As a Chief Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by leading technical design and engineering efforts across TSSSOC, optimizing SOC toolsets, automation, and detection capabilities in support of a unified cybersecurity framework. Veterans are encouraged to apply. This position requires a hybrid work arrangement in the DC Metro area, with site visits to Martinsburg, WV, and Memphis, TN. Duties Lead architectural design, tool integration, and automation efforts across SOC environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid). Serve as the senior engineering authority on SOC platform design, optimization, and implementation. Support technical coordination across engineering, operations, and threat and research teams. Guide the development of advanced detection logic, playbooks, and orchestrations. Evaluate and recommend technologies to enhance SOC capabilities and performance. Ensure SOC systems meet federal security engineering standards and availability requirements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred. 10+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, including 5+ years in SOC or enterprise security environments. Relevant certifications: CISSP, GCIA, GDSA, AWS Certified Security – Specialty. Expertise in SOC tools and technologies (e.g., Splunk ES, Zeek, YARA, MISP, Snort, Nifi). Experience designing secure architectures and implementing automation in cloud and hybrid environments. Active Top Secret clearance required.
