nBlack Hawk College seeks a full-time Medical Assisting Program Director to teach classes in and manage the Medical Assisting and Medical Coding Programs. This is an in-person position at our Quad Cities Campus in Moline, IL that will include supervising clinical rotations and internships. This is a grant funded position.
nStart date: August 18, 2025
nDescription of Duties
nThe Program Director for the Medical Assisting Programs is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, supervision and evaluation of all instruction and related program management activities including clinical/internship coordination. As a full -time faculty the Program Director is also expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students educational experience; develop and execute appropriate methods of evaluating students’ performance; develop, secure, and maintain the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
nEducation & Experience
nThe Program Director must:
n1)Possess a minimum of an associate degree;
n2)Be credentialed in good standing in medical assisting, by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), American National Standards Institute(ANSI) or under International Organization for Standardization (ISO);
n3)Have medical or allied health education or training;
n4)Have experience related to the profession of medical assisting;
n5)Have documented education in instructional methodology.

Demonstrate ability to organize workload, accurate record keeping, and follow through on assignments

Ability to adapt to and encourage positive change

Oral English proficiency for classroom instruction is required

Instructional methodology education may be demonstrated by documentation of completed workshops, in-service sessions, seminars, or completed college courses on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
nSupplemental Information
nThis position is open until filled with the review of applications beginning immediately with a start date of May 2025.
nFull-time faculty have a base contract of 9 months and are paid over 12 months per year. Base load is based on 30 equated hours per academic year. Starting salary is commensurate with education and experience.
