Job DescriptionJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Cabinet Drafter
with hands-on experience using
Mosaik (formerly known as CabWriter or SketchThis)
to produce high-quality, build-ready drawings and digital models for residential and commercial casework. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, materials, and joinery, and can translate architectural documents into precise digital shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities
·
Create accurate 3D cabinet models and 2D shop drawings using
Mosaik software
(SketchUp-based).
·
Interpret architectural and interior elevations, floor plans, and construction details to produce detailed cabinet layouts.
·
Generate cut lists, material reports, and hardware schedules from Mosaik for CNC or manual production workflows.
·
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability.
·
Maintain drawing standards, templates, and documentation practices in accordance with company and industry best practices.
·
Participate in design review meetings and make revisions based on client or team feedback.
Qualifications
·
2+ years of experience drafting cabinetry, millwork, or casework, preferably in a shop or manufacturing setting.
·
Proficient with Mosaik software (or CabWriter/SketchThis) and SketchUp.
·
Solid understanding of cabinetry construction methods (frameless/framed, overlay/inset, etc.).
·
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and shop drawing conventions.
·
Familiarity with woodworking materials, hardware, and finishes.
·
Strong organizational and communication skills.
·
Experience with CNC workflows and nested-based manufacturing is a plus.
