WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The Office of the County Council is seeking to hire a Legislative Services Coordinator (LSC) to serve as the receptionist and perform advanced administrative duties for the Central Staff team. What You'll Be Doing Receptionist Job Duties Include: Welcome visitors by greeting them in a warm and friendly manner, and directing them appropriately
Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
Inform visitors by answering or referring inquiries
Maintain the reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
Respond to inquiries from constituents, citizen groups, County government officials, and business organizations
Perform other job-related administrative duties as assigned, such as data entry, managing conference rooms, reviewing and preparing documents, etc.

Bilingual applicants in the Spanish/English languages are encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Four (4) or more years of administrative/office support experience. Education: Completion of high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted. Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences All Applicants will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated "Qualified," placed on the Referred List, and may be considered for an interview.
Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following: Bilingual in Spanish/English Experience providing front desk support Experience providing office and administrative support Experience using Microsoft products, such as Word & Excel Experience maintaining databases

Retirement Benefits
All permanent and term positions are eligible for robust retirement plans. Public safety positions are eligible for a defined benefit pension plan in which they are vested after only five years.
