Job Title: Network Engineer II
Location: US - CA - Fremont
Role Mandate
- The main function of a network engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks.
- A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.
- The individual will be responsible for provisioning some data center network equipment.
- The ideal candidate will be able to understand and execute python scripts and have network engineering device background.
- There are playbooks, runbooks, wikis, and documentations to support the individual to be successful in their role, while working alongside an engineer.
- This is a great opportunity to land in the middle of network engineering.
- Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands
- Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades
- Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems
- Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
- Develop and implement solutions for network problems
- Performance will be measured on execution of assigned tasks.
- 2+ years of Network Engineering, Linux/Unix, and Python experience
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
- Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
- Data center engineering knowledge
- Former Meta experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic ability to work independently
- Strong time management skills
- Team player
- Punctual
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.
