Yes Grade: C42 JOB OBJECTIVE: Join an exciting team where you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing the dynamic tech infrastructure at the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB). As a vital part of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cutting-edge data, voice, video/digital signage, and wireless systems. You'll work directly with the LRCVB Network Administrator to assist with core network hardware and software installations and upgrades, supporting everything from high-speed Wi-Fi to innovative digital signage and state-of-the-art security monitoring systems. This position is not a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is not subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. This position is not considered Essential Personnel under the LRCVB Inclement Weather policy. Essential Functions: Provides technical support for personal computer installation and maintenance for the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau. Investigate, identify, and resolve problems with Windows-based wired and wireless networks; supports, client computers, and related software. Supports and maintains computer network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, wireless system, remote connectivity, and network hardware and software. Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommends and implements corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed. Monitors network functioning to identify performance problems; develops and implements system changes or configuration modifications to resolve performance problems and increase efficiency of the network. Administers and resolves issues with associated end-user workstation networking software products as required. Collaborates with the LRCVB Senior Helpdesk Technician to ensure efficient operation of the organization-wide desktop computing environment. Coordinates with the Network Administrator to monitor functionality, review system performance and provide overall evaluation of network; makes recommendations for cost savings, increased efficiency, maintenance needs and advanced technology as needed. Works on data cabling projects for requests generated by new device installs, relocation of network devices, or repairs; inspects network cabling or related network equipment as needed; plans for future cabling needs. Supports the voice and data (VOIP) telephone system for all LRCVB operated facilities; evaluates, troubleshoots, and diagnoses voice and data communications system malfunctions; takes necessary action to restore system to service; notifies appropriate personnel of status; resolves problems or advises supervisor or contacts outside vendor Minimum Qualifications: These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related area, and three (3) years of related experience in maintaining network connected devices and systems or related area and three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of voice and data communications (VoIP) networks, two (2) years of experience in IP addressing, TCP/IP, and Windows OS on work stations and servers with protocols for SIP and PRI trunks to include experience in the installation and maintenance of voice and data telecommunications equipment, systems, and servers or relate field. Equivalent combinations of education, certification and experience will be considered. Additional Requirements: Must be available to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays, as required. This is a high-reliability position that will require routine monitoring and mitigation tasks for maximum network availability. This position may require one or more of the following pre-employment screenings: drug and alcohol screening, or background investigation. Preferred Requirements: Aruba Certified Mobility Professional or Expert (ACMP/X), Aruba Certified Switching Professional or Expert (ACSP/X), Aruba Certified Design Professional or Expert (ACDP/X), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Network+ Certification from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Other internationally recognized network certifications.
