The Lead Medical Assistant performs office and patient-oriented procedures and services under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and Manager in the medical office setting. Must have proven ability to consistently exercise independent judgment to provide appropriate assistance to specialty departments in maintaining and improving workflow. Also provides back up support to the Nursing Supervisor and Manager, including allocation of personnel and resources, as well as back-office support within the medical office setting to maximize efficient and effective operations and workflow. With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patient and significant other when administering care. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment which may include a considerable amount of walking and physical assistance for patients. Strong verbal and written skills. Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety. Adaptability and accuracy. Must have good visual acuity and motor coordination. Strong clinical skills. Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions. Strong computer skills (data entry and typing). Bilingual, Spanish preferred. Required Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program Minimum five (5) years back-office experience Current CPR certification Preferred: Current Phlebotomy and EKG Certification Minimum Salary
