Located 16 miles south west of Chicago, Bedford Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The plant was built in 1987, manufactures portion cups lids, coffee lids, and cold cup lids, and has approximately 250 employees. Novolex is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce. Responsibilities
Responsible for providing leadership and direction to assigned department(s), product line(s) or profit center(s) and teams in order to meet production goals, ensure a safe work environment, and meet customer specifications. Typically supervises 250+ employees including salaried, hourly and agency temps. Schedules, tracks, & monitors production and costs to ensure unit meets established goals while maintaining a safe work environment and quality standards. Completes and maintains timely and accurate reports on critical production outcomes such as efficiency, downtime, cost, etc. Provide leadership for Production, Engineering, and Maintenance with the ultimate objective of maximizing production volume while achieving cost targets. Manages the capital budget and develops the technical talent in the group. Assures plant facilities and production equipment are properly maintained. Manages the plant Capital Budget and Engineering expense budget. Works with plant technical and operations resources to identify capital deployment opportunities. Responsible for CAR submission and coordination of capital activities. Provides engineering support and resources to sustain plant production. Coordinates communication and implementation of manufacturing and technical initiatives. Manages AOP budget, which includes technical group salaries, building and grounds, maintenance materials and utilities. Responsibility for meeting site environmental compliance and providing support to plant safety programs. Maintains effective workforce through hiring, training, coaching, performance management, employee development, and disciplinary actions. Develops, implements and demonstrates best practices and consistent policies. Provides feedback up and down the organization. Develops and implements safety awareness programs, communicates safety issues, corrects safety related problems, and leads investigations into safety related issues. Leads, designs and implements continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in engineering preferred. 8 years of manufacturing/engineering experience with demonstrated project and process management skills, including 4 years of supervisory experience. Ability to analyze and problem solve various technical related issues. Extrusion/thermoforming and LEAN experience a plus. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of statistical methods and process improvement techniques. Must demonstrate proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite. SAP experience a plus. Must demonstrate team building, motivational and leadership abilities. Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and overall communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization required.
Compensation: Pactiv Evergreen is required by laws in many locations to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $109,300 to $182,100/year.
