This job posting is for applying for the Mercyhealth Nursing Assistant Training Program. This accelerated 88-hour program is offered over 4 weeks with students attending 8 days of lecture and 4 days of clinical.
- Classes are held Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8am-4:30pm at MercyCare Building
- Clinicals are held Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 6:30am-3pm at MHTC Hospital
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and the class schedule for 2025 is included below:

- March 3 - March 31
- April 14 - May 12
- June 9 - July 9
- July 14 - August 11
- September 3 - October 1
- October 20 - November 17
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
- Students are expected to arrive on time and follow program guidelines regarding cell phone use, dress code, and professional conduct.
- Students are given homework each class and are expected to actively participate in group discussion, activities, and hands-on skill demonstration with students, instructors, and manikins as appropriate.
- In each class, students will be tested on the previous class material.
- Only one absence (due to unforeseen circumstances) is allowed, and all absences must be made up prior to completing the final exam.
- Overall, students must score an 80% to pass the course. At the end of the program, all students will take the Wisconsin state CNA exam (including knowledge and skills return demonstration).
REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of program entrance exam or proof of enrollment in a college program
- Submitted vaccination record prior to the start of clinicals
CERTIFICATE/LICENSURE
- Students will obtain CNA licensure upon successful completion of Mercyhealth Nursing Assistant Training Program
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the student is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle, finger, or feel.
- Student must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell
- Lift and/or move up to 50lbs frequently, and 100lbs occasionally
- Have close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
