Bring your expertise to the City of Brotherly Love as the Director of Nurse Navigation at the renowned Fox Chase Cancer Center, a distinguished member of the Temple University Health System. The Position The Director of Nurse Navigation will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes that enhance patient care and optimize cancer treatment across the nationally recognized Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple University healthcare system. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this leader will oversee one direct report and approximately 40 FTEs. This leader will work collaboratively with the National ICR and demonstrate an understanding of working in a matrixed environment. The Director will lead the redesign and launch of a new navigation program tailored to the organization's needs, incorporating the latest industry best practices. This process will involve conducting comprehensive role assessments, defining clear role delineations, and collaborating closely with the ICR to ensure a seamless implementation. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center, along with expertise in NCI-designated institutions. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for managing diverse personalities. This role requires a strategic, innovative leader with a deep understanding of patient navigation. Requirements BSN required; Master's degree in healthcare, nursing or business-related field preferred. Active RN license required. Minimum of five years of experience in a clinical nursing position and at least three years of experience in a nursing leadership role. Oncology experience is a necessary and crucial part for this role. The Organization Established in 1904, Fox Chase was one of the first cancer hospitals in the United States, and is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). As an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the facility has won two Nobel Prizes, developed the hepatitis B vaccine
preventing millions of cancer deaths around the world
and discovered the first genetic link to cancer, which today is changing the future of cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship. Fox Chase is a proud member of the Temple University Health System. Temple Health also includes the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. The Nursing Department at Fox Chase Cancer has held Magnet designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2000, when it became the first hospital in Pennsylvania to earn it. This is the fifth consecutive designation for Fox Chase. Less than 10 percent of hospitals nationwide have attained this designation. The Community Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's largest city, is home to a number of historical sites such as Independence National Historic Park, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell, all related to the founding of the United States. The city is full of museums, music, and an abundance of food options; not to mention, a storied professional sports scene that includes the 76ers, the Phillies, the Eagles, and the Flyers.
