Position: Java Lead Location: Mclean, VA (Onsite) Duration: Contract Job Description: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance Java-based applications with a focus on data-intensive processes. Work extensively with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases to manage and optimize data storage and retrieval. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions leveraging AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS, etc. Implement and maintain data pipelines and streaming solutions using tools like Apache Kafka and Spark (nice to have). Optimize application performance and ensure data integrity across distributed systems. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments. Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and cloud computing. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong proficiency in Java programming with hands-on experience in data-centric applications. Extensive experience with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases. Solid understanding and hands on experience in of AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS, etc.) and cloud architecture principles. Knowledge of distributed systems. Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing data workflows and application performance. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Skills: Experience working with Kafka and Spark is a plus. Experience and knowledge of GraphQL is a plus. Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Seniority level
