JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Controllership Functional Project Management Lead to drive the successful implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP across our global media and entertainment enterprise. This role will serve as the primary liaison between the Controllership function and the broader Oracle Fusion program, ensuring that accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, and compliance requirements are met while enabling standardization and change management across our businesses.
Key Responsibilities • Lead the end-to-end functional project management of Controllership workstreams within the Oracle Fusion implementation, including Record-to-Report (R2R), Source-to-Pay (S2P), Content, Acquire-to-Retire (A2R), Project-to-Result (P2R) and Order-to-Cash (O2C). • Partner with cross-functional teams (Planning, Technology, and Oracle Consulting Services) to define and deliver solutions that meet financial and operational needs. • Coordinate, provide input, clearly communicate and track progress of design sessions, validations, testing cycles and conversion plans, ensuring key design and configuration decisions meet critical business requirements, are sufficiently represented in testing plans, and are aligned with program milestones and go-live targets. • Identify and escalate risks, dependencies, and decision points across workstreams, facilitating resolution through structured governance and stakeholder engagement. • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls, maximizing use of Oracle out-of-the-box functionality and configuration, including for master data management, approval workflows, account reconciliation, journal entry standards, cross-validation rules, intercompany transaction logic, cash flow statement preparation, allocations and international localization requirements. • Represent Controllership in program governance forums and executive updates, articulating progress, challenges, and strategic implications.
Is this for a functional accounting-based candidate, or is this for a more technical? ERP consulting background, with a broad background in fusion, and operations experience with different industries. Change management, business transformation background needed.
Is this a hands-on role or more focused on oversight and stakeholder management? Oversight on the business functions, and able to be strategic and analytical, able to understand the modules in ERP and able to dive deep in the fusion.
Are there direct reports or is this a purely individual contributor role? They will be an individual contributor, they will partner with other team members in procure to pay, order to cash, source to pay, expense, sox compliance team, segregation of duties, record to report, controllers, working in domestic and international, general ledger, sub-ledger, accounts.
What is the status of the Oracle Fusion project currently-design, testing, or go-live? At the design stage phase, and in a couple of weeks we are in prototype, we are in the middle of the project.
Are all controllership workstreams already defined, or will this person help shape them? They will help shape the workstreams through the rest of this year. They have a separate technical team, but this role is business-focused and business transformation.
Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience in controllership, accounting operations, or financial systems implementation within a large, global organization. • 5+ years of ERP Oracle Fusion experience • Proven track record leading ERP implementations (Oracle Fusion) with a focus on accounting and finance functions. Should have completed a Fusion implementation in the last 5 years. • Deep understanding of financial accounting and close processes, intercompany accounting, and enterprise data governance. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a matrixed environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate across functions and levels. Able to present to executive leadership, analytical skills, adaptable and flexible to working in this environment and culture. Able to be agile with changes, and able to be drive consensus. Able to work across different organizations across Client Global. • gile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and user-centric design.
Preferred Attributes: • CPA or equivalent accounting qualification preferred. • Experience in the media and entertainment industry, particularly with content accounting. • Familiarity with Oracle ERP, EPM, FCC, and EDM modules. • Using Asana for tracking, SharePoint and MS Office Suite preferred.
