Facility Engineer (Electrician)
to serve as the Facility Engineer (Electrician) maintaining and upgrading the BGIF Facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure proper power, heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, space management, construction, security, and maintenance for interior workspaces and computer rooms in the BGIF.
Plan and conduct inspections at appropriate levels and frequencies (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) on BGIF power and cooling systems, including generators, UPS, switching gear, and CRAC units. Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and procure necessary supplies.
Develop and implement a BGIF Maintenance Plan to ensure 99.96% uptime for power and cooling systems, covering preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
Manage server room power systems from utility entry to rack connections, including redundancies.
Experience, Competencies, Skills:
Perform electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment like generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating/cooling units, conduit systems, etc.
Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications. Diagnose electrical system problems and use appropriate tools and instruments.
Manage and organize electrical support services and products for the OPIR TAP Lab.
Education:
High School diploma and/or Associate's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or Journeyman Electrician with 2-5 years of experience.
Relevant training and certification through formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
Current TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility required.
