Role Description-
This is an on-site role for an EMS RN located in Reno, NV with both full-time and part-time opportunities. The EMS RN will provide ground CCT services and comprehensive emergency care in pre-hospital and interfacility settings. Being an EMS RN gives you the opportunity to work one-on-one with your patients providing much needed high-quality care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering medications and operating medical equipment. The EMS RN will also collaborate with other EMS personnel, police and fire during emergency and non-emergency situations, ensure patient documentation is completed accurately, and participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
Position Summary - Ultimately responsible for all aspects of patient care from the time of patient contact until transfer of care. Provides high quality routine and emergency nursing care of the patient in the transport environment in accordance with established CCT program policies and protocols. Utilizing critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient. Performs complete assessments on all patients. Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements. Drives and operates ambulances and other company vehicles safely, in accordance with established emergency driving guidelines. Provide an exemplary, safe, professional demeanor at all times. Acts as a catalyst for absolute integrity, confidentiality, and competency with patients, their families, the public, other agencies, coworkers, and REMSA management. Maintain currency of all required certifications and licenses. Follows all applicable State and Federal regulations in the performance of their duties, including NRS 632.120. Provide feedback to management for improvement of working conditions, patient care, and system performance. Responsible for timely, legible, highly accurate recordkeeping. Assumes the role as educator for the public, students, and coworkers. Cooperate with other members of the REMSA team, including management and co-workers. Must be able to work overtime as required. Once appropriately trained, may work independently in the 911 system at the company approved Paramedic protocol level. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/ Experience Requirements -
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Registered nursing license in Nevada required. A minimum of two (2) years' experience in an Emergency Department or ICU is required. EMS - RN Certification or the ability to obtain one prior to clinical duty is required. Some prior EMS experience preferred. Current AHA BLS Provider required. Current AHA ACLS Provider required. Current AHA PALS Provider required. Current ITLS or equivalent or the ability to obtain one upon hire is required. Valid driver's license required with a clean driving record. Must possess excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Maintains a positive working attitude and professional demeanor. Self-starter requiring little oversight. Must be adaptable to change and able to function in a team based management structure. Must be able to work overtime as required.
