Chair, Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine and Endeavor Health Medical Group Physician Executive, Pathology & Lab Medicine. Endeavor Health is combining the duties of two significant physician leadership roles in pursuit of excellence - the Endeavor Health NorthShore Hospitals Chair, Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine, and Endeavor Health Physician Executive, Pathology & Lab Medicine. The NorthShore Hospitals Chair, Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine is responsible for oversight of clinical quality, provider performance and the effective operation and growth of the four NorthShore Hospitals (NorthShore) Pathology & Lab Medicine department. The Department of 30 plus subspecialized pathologists and clinical lab directors is known for innovation, including total lab automation in microbiology, a renowned molecular lab with an extensive menu (including next generation sequencing, FISH and genomics), and currently is implementing digital pathology and AI. The department sponsors a longstanding successful AP/CP residency program and several fellowships, and also supports an on-site MLS program. NorthShore is the primary teaching affiliate of the University of Chicago, and faculty have academic appointments there. The Department also supports internally and externally funded research. The Chair will be someone with great passion and enthusiasm for delivering the highest quality of care and will work tirelessly to advance the Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine in support of the NorthShore Hospitals and Endeavor Health. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in an academic environment and significant experience leading clinical operations, program development, and recruitment of diverse providers to achieve superior clinical outcomes and strategic growth priorities. While developing strong trusting relationships within the Department and the Endeavor Health Medical Group will be critically important, it is also essential that the Chair build strong relationships with independent affiliated physicians. The Chair will recruit and retain world class pathologists and will help develop/mentor future physician leaders. The Endeavor Health Physician Executive, Pathology & Lab Medicine is critical for maximizing the impact of the service line for Endeavor Health. This leader works with their administrative dyad partner to build a consistent, optimized, and differentiated pathology and lab medicine across all of the Endeavor Health service areas. The Chair/Physician Executive will coordinate plans and activities with the four independent pathology groups which provide pathology service at Swedish, Northwest Community, Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals through a total of 31 independent pathologists. They will also lead the Endeavor Health Medical Group employed pathology practice based at NorthShore Hospitals. To meet our goals of providing Safe, Seamless and Personal Care; the Chair/Physician Executive will work with the independent groups in the system to achieve integration, standardization, wise utilization, and clinical program development leading to growth, improved quality and efficiency, and improved patient/team member experience. Qualified candidates will hold an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent, plus an MBA or similar experience is preferred, be board certified in their area of expertise, and be eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
