Special Aviation Projects – Civil Works Coordinator
to be based in
Honolulu, Hawaii . The position involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating technical team scopes of field exploration work. The exploration work can include pavement conditions index (PCI) surveys, geotechnical corings and borings, and non-destructive pavement analysis by heavy weight deflectometer (HWD). The coordinator will also serve as an Airport Operations Area (AOA) escort for team members and actively monitor the air traffic control tower radio frequencies during the field work. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Assists in planning and developing project work schedules for airfield pavement evaluations teams to mobilize personnel and equipment at fifteen (15) airports within the State of Hawaii. The coordination work includes travel and lodging schedules, logistical support for shipping project related equipment to the neighbor islands. Assists with collecting and analyzing data for the pavement condition index (PCI) at each of the project airports. Assists with overseeing airfield pavement inspections in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular D5340-12, “Standard Test Method for Airport Pavement Condition Index Surveys” Demonstrate an ability to interpret engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics related to airport pavement management systems for runways, taxiways, and aprons at airport facilities. Uses various computer software for scheduling (ex. MSProject) and preparing work plan schematics. Coordinates and collaborates with airport staff, other engineering and planning disciplines, sub-consultants, and regulatory agencies, and clients. Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule. Assists with ensuring conformance with AECOM and HDOT-A safety requirements, including safety and operational procedures when operating on an airfield. Qualifications:

Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role. Valid US Driver’s License and the ability to meet the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation – Airports requirements for security badging, including driving on the airfield to access project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and must pass client required background check(s). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with using Microsoft Office Software, including MSProject. Experience drafting and producing *.pdf electronic format documents. Experience in leadership positions and effectively managing a project team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both in an office and travel to the various airport field environments on the neighbor islands. Due to the nature of airport operations, the field explorations activities can include night work. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. This position will initially be on a part-time variable (PTV) basis as the coordination workload may vary from week-to-week.
