nNorthrop Grumman's Space Systems Algorithms Group is hiring for a Principal/Sr Principal Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer within the Seeker Algorithms group to support the Glide Phase Interceptor Program within the Launch Vehicle business unit located in Chandler, AZ.
nThe successful candidate for this position will help lead a team developing and implementing algorithms for advanced seeker, track, and discrimination. The team will be responsible for developing the algorithmic set, optimizing the algorithms for use on embedded systems, creating a verification and validation approach, generating simulation models for algorithm testing, and supporting the transfer of those algorithms to fight hardware. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
nThis position maybe offered at the Principal Engineer GNC Level 3 or Sr Principal GNC Level 4.
nBasic Qualifications
nIf offered at the Principal (GNC Level 3) Level: Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience or Master's Degree and 3 years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D.
nIf offered at the Sr. Principal (GNC Level 4) Level: Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience or Master's Degree and 6 years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. and 3 years of related engineering experience
nIf offered at either level:
nU.S. citizenship.
nActive Secret security clearance.
nKnowledge in designing, implementing, and testing seeker discrimination and tracking algorithms.
nKnowledge of Digital Signal Processing and Kalman Filtering.
nPreferred Qualifications
nProficiency with Linux and Linux based software development tools.
nKnowledge in designing, implementing, and testing seeker discrimination and tracking algorithms.
nExperience with Digital Signal Processing and Kalman Filtering.
nExperience developing requirements for seeker discrimination and tracking algorithms.
nAbility to integrate complex systems that facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment.
nWorking knowledge of hardware/software analysis tools (debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, emulators, etc).
nExperience with space craft or launch systems software development is highly desired.
nExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
nPrevious experience with digital signal or video processing.
nPrevious experience with Discrimination Algorithms.
nPrevious experience and/or desire to lead a small team.
nSalary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00
nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
