guiding everything we do, we're shaping the future of automation in dynamic markets. As a
Principal Architect for On-Vehicle & Embedded Systems , you will be responsible for defining and guiding the technical architecture of ASI's on-board autonomy software and embedded systems, focusing on the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and Vehicle Artificial Intelligence (VAI). This role ensures that complex, safety-critical vehicle control components are designed to be reliable, maintainable, and scalable. You will also contribute to R&D efforts by evaluating and prototyping new technologies supporting ASI's roadmap for advanced on-vehicle and embedded autonomy systems. Working closely with the Lead Principal Architect and other Principal Architects, you will provide deep domain expertise in embedded development, real-time systems, and integration with ASI's overall autonomy platform. Responsibilities: Define and drive the technical direction of software and systems for on-vehicle autonomy controllers and embedded components, specifically the VCU and VAI, and their integration with perception, planning, and control algorithms. Provide technical leadership and guidance on embedded software design, real-time systems, and integration with autonomy and perception stacks. Ensure on-vehicle systems meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements in collaboration with Functional Safety and Validation Engineers. Collaborate with AI/ML teams to define interfaces between perception, planning, control algorithms, and embedded execution environments. Participate in R&D activities to evaluate, prototype, and implement roadmap technology items relevant to on-vehicle and embedded autonomy systems. Work with Simulation Specialists to validate embedded system behavior in simulated and real-world scenarios. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and interface specifications. Support the Lead Principal Architect in establishing architectural standards and technology strategies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields. 8+ years of experience in embedded software development, real-time systems, or on-vehicle control systems, with relevant experience in embedded languages such as C/C++ and Python. Proven expertise in designing and architecting embedded solutions for safety-critical applications. Familiarity with RTOS, embedded Linux, and hardware/software integration. Experience with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, serial in vehicle or robotics contexts. Understanding of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 is highly desirable. Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical designs clearly. At
