Our Cybersecurity team is tasked with security engineering, regulatory response, third-party risk, and incident response capabilities to secure GM Financial, the captive auto finance subsidiary of General Motors. Reporting directly to the CEO, our team enjoys strong support to deliver top-tier security using cutting-edge technologies and automation, enabling focus on impactful security initiatives. As part of GM, you'll work on cybersecurity projects across various industries including financial services, automotive, manufacturing, high-tech, and military. Responsibilities About the role: The Sr Cybersecurity Engineer develops, deploys, monitors, tunes, evaluates, reports, and maintains systems and procedures to identify and mitigate threats to corporate networks, assets, and users. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and tuning security technologies such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), SIEM, User Behavior Analytics, Host Intrusion Prevention (HIPS), and Web/Email Gateways. The role involves both technical implementation and communication of security requirements to management and leadership. Job Duties Engineer, design, install, and support security technologies including DLP, HIPS, SIEM, Endpoint Security, Vulnerability Management, Email Gateways, Breach Mitigation, Certificate Management, SSL encryption, Identity Management, Cloud Security, Database Security, Web Gateways Identify potential technologies to enhance enterprise security Use threat intelligence, incident response, and SIEM analysis to develop custom rules and policies for security technologies Collaborate with management to develop and implement security project plans Participate in risk assessments and incident response activities Update security procedures, standards, and technical requirements Propose and evaluate new security tools and systems Qualifications Ideal Candidate: Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure design Strong technical skills in server, client, network, and data security Experience with DLP solutions, tuning, and data identification Understanding of IT security standards, cloud security, containerization, scripting, and automation Security certifications like CISSP, CCNP-Security, GIAC, CEH are preferred Experience and Education 3-5 years in cybersecurity, data loss prevention, or network operations Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience What We Offer Benefits starting day one include 401K matching, parental leave, tuition assistance, GM employee auto discount, community service pay, and holidays.
