Title:- Senior Data modeler/architect - Business SME (Only W2 or SCorp)
Location:- Irving TX (Hybrid Role)
Long Term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop
conceptual, logical, and physical data models
to support transactional, analytical, and reporting systems. Partner with business stakeholders and SMEs in banking and wealth management to gather and analyze requirements. Translate business needs into high-quality data models for
investment products ,
client portfolios ,
financial planning ,
advisory services , and
regulatory reporting . Develop and maintain
data dictionaries ,
metadata repositories , and
data lineage documentation . Collaborate with
data engineers ,
ETL developers , and
BI/reporting teams
to ensure models support downstream use cases. Optimize and tune data models for
performance, scalability, and integration
across multiple platforms (e.g., RDBMS, NoSQL, cloud storage). Support
data governance ,
data quality , and
master data management
efforts. Ensure
compliance with industry standards
(e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, MiFID II) and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Provide guidance on
best practices
in data modeling, especially in the financial services domain. Qualifications: Must-Have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in
data modeling , with at least 3+ years in the
banking/wealth management domain . Strong hands-on experience with
data modeling tools
like
Erwin ,
ER/Studio ,
PowerDesigner , or similar. Proven knowledge of
financial data
structures – accounts, transactions, holdings, asset classes, performance, risk metrics, etc. Expertise in
relational databases
(e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with
big data platforms
(e.g., Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks). Understanding of
data warehousing ,
data lakes , and
data mesh
architectures. Excellent SQL and analytical skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with business and IT stakeholders. Nice to Have: Experience with
WealthTech platforms
(e.g., Avaloq, Temenos, Charles River, InvestCloud). Knowledge of
reference data management ,
market data , and
KYC/AML
