Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our growing team as an Engineer Database / Principal Engineer Database. The Mission Assurance (MA) team is seeking a data scientist who will contribute to the maturation of our data-driven processes. The ideal candidate possesses both the analytical aptitude and problem-solving skillset necessary for extracting value from novel data sets. This role may be filled as an Engineer Database or Principal Engineer Database. Engineer Database Essential Functions / Responsibilities: Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and verbal format. Support the design and maintenance of database systems. Leverage expertise in SQL to design and optimize database systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand data analysis needs and build custom solutions in Tableau. Develop automation solutions using scripting languages, specifically Power BI and Microsoft SQL queries. Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems to meet business requirements. Participate in database migration efforts and system upgrades as needed. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in STEM discipline AND 0 years of relevant experience. Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher. Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one database management system. Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance tuning basics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiar with SharePoint and Power Automate. Principal Engineer Database Essential Functions / Responsibilities: Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers. Leverage expertise in SQL to design and optimize database systems. Collaborate with engineering teams and cross-functionally to understand data analysis needs. Develop automation solutions using scripting languages, specifically Power BI and Microsoft SQL queries. Analyze and optimize performance at an advanced level and implement strategic improvements. Document database designs, configurations, and processes for knowledge sharing. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 4 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in STEM discipline AND 3 years of relevant experience. Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher. In-depth knowledge of SQL and proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language. Understanding of data integration techniques and tools. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experienced in data visualization best practices. Familiar with SharePoint and Power Automate. Salary Range: $77,200 - $115,800 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining salary offers.
