Principal Software Engineer

to join the

QuestaSim solver team , focused on enhancing the

SystemVerilog constraint solver

a core engine in our industry-leading verification platform. This is a highly technical role ideal for someone passionate about algorithms, performance optimization, and constraint solving. Youll work at the intersection of software engineering, formal methods, and high-performance computing, helping evolve one of the most advanced constraint-solving engines in the EDA space. Responsibilities Develop efficient algorithms and heuristics for solving large, complex constraint systems Analyze and improve solver performance, scalability, and reliability Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to define technical direction and requirements Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and architectural guidance Stay current with advancements in SAT/SMT solving, constraint programming, and EDA methodologies Qualifications BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 10+ years of experience in software development, with strong proficiency in

C/C++

in Linux/Unix environments Expertise in

algorithm design ,

graph theory , and

computational complexity Demonstrated ability to

profile ,

tune , and

optimize

performance-critical systems Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on large codebases Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with

Transform the Everyday The salary range for this position is $151,300to $272,400and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidates work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
