We are seeking a Scientist to join our Process Development team, supporting media development for cell and gene therapy applications. The role involves developing and optimizing stem cell culture media, leading scientific projects, and collaborating with high-performing teams. The position is based in Boston, MA. Key Responsibilities:
Design and conduct experiments to evaluate new medium components and supplements. Use analytical tools and omics technologies for process understanding and optimization. Establish and utilize high throughput screening platforms. Apply DOE principles for medium development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document findings. Ensure safety and data integrity in all activities. Lead by example in the lab and mentor junior team members. Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Stem Cell Biology, Engineering, or related field. PhD with 0-3 years relevant experience, or BS with 6+ years, or MS with 4+ years. Experience in medium development and mammalian cell culture, preferably stem cells. Knowledge of DOE, bioreactors, and cGxP standards. Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks. Authorized to work in the US. Additional Details:
Pay Range: $105,600 - $158,400, including bonuses and equity. This is an on-site role in Boston, with flexible work arrangements. Vertex offers comprehensive benefits and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
