Position Summary
The Project Engineer II - Process drives engineering projects to enhance manufacturing while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role supports Empower's mission to innovate and expand access to affordable, life-changing medications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops project deliverables, including Capital Acquisition Requests, scope, schedule, and budget, while managing process engineering tasks and equipment purchases.
- Provides technical expertise, creates specifications, and ensures smooth project turnover to Manufacturing Engineering.
- Leads equipment qualification and validation through Factory/Site Acceptance Tests and Installation/Operational Qualifications, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with contractors and vendors to meet project requirements and addresses issues to maintain timelines.
- Supports preventive maintenance, project shutdowns, facility updates, and safety assessments, staying current on regulatory guidance.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication, problem-solving, planning, and teamwork skills with attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience in process troubleshooting, managing consultants, and working in pharmaceutical or biopharma environments.

- Minimum 2 years of experience applying engineering principles to process systems, including Aseptic Fill Lines, Mixing Equipment, Bioreactors, and related equipment, in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice-compliant environment required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required; degrees based on Technology are not acceptable.
- AutoCAD and Professional Engineer license preferred.
