Position Summary
The Project Engineer II - Process drives engineering projects to enhance manufacturing while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role supports Empower's mission to innovate and expand access to affordable, life-changing medications.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops project deliverables, including Capital Acquisition Requests, scope, schedule, and budget, while managing process engineering tasks and equipment purchases.
• Provides technical expertise, creates specifications, and ensures smooth project turnover to Manufacturing Engineering.
• Leads equipment qualification and validation through Factory/Site Acceptance Tests and Installation/Operational Qualifications, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with contractors and vendors to meet project requirements and addresses issues to maintain timelines.
• Supports preventive maintenance, project shutdowns, facility updates, and safety assessments, staying current on regulatory guidance.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Knowledge and Skills

• Strong communication, problem-solving, planning, and teamwork skills with attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience in process troubleshooting, managing consultants, and working in pharmaceutical or biopharma environments.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience applying engineering principles to process systems, including Aseptic Fill Lines, Mixing Equipment, Bioreactors, and related equipment, in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice-compliant environment required.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required; degrees based on Technology are not acceptable.
• AutoCAD and Professional Engineer license preferred.
