Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Back End Software Engineering leader to oversee a portfolio of diverse technology projects, lead a team of skilled developers, and drive innovation within Capital One. This role involves collaborating with product managers, utilizing various programming languages and cloud services, and mentoring engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple technology projects and manage a team of developers experienced in microservices and full-stack systems.
- Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in tech communities, and mentor team members.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust, cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experience.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Go, and Scala, along with open-source databases, container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and AWS services.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships)
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Minimum 4 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Over 9 years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
- 3+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks
- 7+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of Agile practices experience
Additional Information
