As a Production Manager you will: Oversee the daily production activities for Vocational Training Services. Responsible for job flow, job scheduling, and provision of sufficient work to sustain the needs of Vocational Training Services, according to the LEANability work process. Organize job materials, including oversight of work that is stored at Via and daily work for instructors and participants. Responsible for teaching instructors how to complete jobs, and checking daily to ensure jobs are completed accurately throughout Vocational Training Services groups. Update and maintain job description books for use by instructors. Coordinate pickup and delivery of contract work materials. Complete inventory of work product when work orders arrive at Via to ensure accuracy. Oversee the scheduling of contract work for the Vocational Training Services department work sections. Monitor quality completion of work prior to the shipment to customers. Oversee quality management for instructors and participants. Check participant production sheets weekly. Maintain inventory of supplies needed for contract work, including completing orders through Uline. During times of an influx of production work or rapid work turnaround, assist with production work and quality checks. Assist with UniqueSource shredding contract, including providing support to participants. Fulfill and ship Borenson orders. Maintain relationships with vendors through timely response to emails and phone calls regarding contract work. Operate the forklift as needed. Act as agency forklift trainer. Drive the 26-foot box truck to pick up and drop off contract work, including shredding. Assist with Vocational Training Services department coverage needs. Provide coverage at Reynolds and Reynolds, and other Small Group Employment production sites as needed. Maintain a knowledge base of current best practices in the delivery of Pre-Vocational Supports for individuals with disabilities. Ensure quality control and maintain high safety standards in accordance with ODP regulations, OSHA requirements and local ordinances. Maintain and adhere to all licensing regulations in accordance with ODP. Provide motivation for staff to meet the agency's mission and departmental goals. Cultivate and maintain professional and positive relationships with participants, contractors, and other service providers. Prepare and submit monthly invoices for completed outgoing work. Review production sheets for accuracy by cross-referencing with SetWorks activity records. Maintain professionalism and consistently demonstrate a positive attitude.
Position Requirements Include: One (1) of the following: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Logistics or Engineering is preferred. Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Business, Logistics or Engineering, and two (2) years' experience in industrial work is preferred; or a High School diploma or GED certificate, and four (4) years' experience in industrial work, which includes at least two (2) years supervisory experience are required. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in managing vendor partnerships, cultivating client relationships, and driving business growth is required. Must have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, appropriate vehicle insurance, and clean driving record. DOT physical is required. Must be able to pass drug screening. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team. Must possess the ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks, with flexibility to meet changing needs and priorities as they occur. Must have excellent problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise discretionary judgment and handle difficult situations calmly, graciously, and constructively. Knowledge and experience using computers and related software including Microsoft Office and Excel. Must be able to work in an environment which requires standing, sitting, lifting up to 75lbs and walking on a daily basis. Traveling in the community as needed. Must be flexible and able to adapt to a variety of facility and community work environments.
