Overview
We're looking for a Project Manager who can lead multiple overhead and underground transmission line projects from start to finish. In this role, you'll be the go-to person making sure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and up to quality standards, all while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other key partners. You'll also play a part in helping grow business by supporting marketing efforts with new and existing clients. This role can be based in Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.
What you'll be doing: Pull together proposals, help with presentations, and jump into contract negotiations when needed. Be the main point of contact for clients-managing coordination, project planning, scope, and budgets. Oversee the entire project lifecycle: siting, permitting, environmental work, engineering, procurement, construction support, and final closeout. Keep project schedules and budgets on track while managing scope changes. Handle internal project finances, forecasts, staffing, and risk management tasks. Keep everyone in the loop-clients, teams, and stakeholders-with clear communication at every stage. Set up and enforce project policies, procedures, and quality standards. Regularly report progress, budget updates, safety or environmental concerns, and any roadblocks that pop up.
For
Design-only projects
(traditional design-bid-build), you'll also: Lead the full engineering design effort. Build and manage detailed man-hour budgets. Oversee quality checks for all engineering deliverables. Direct field engineering activities. Manage schedules, budgets, progress tracking, and subcontractor packages. Prepare and submit client change orders and monthly status reports. Plan turnover and start-up activities. Run project meetings and make sure everything stays on track. Enforce company and site safety standards.
And of course, "other duties as assigned"-because things always come up!
What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. At least
7 years of experience
with utility transmission line projects, including 3+ years in a project management role. PE license and/or PMP certification? That's a plus. Comfortable working with a mix of industry, government, and public contacts. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Great problem-solving and analytical abilities. Able to travel as needed. Valid driver's license (and the ability to meet company driving policy standards). Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
