Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
1st shift
9am to 5pm (PST)
1 year temp position

Onsite worker (local). With the current COVID-19 situation, my FTE associates are going in whenever lab work is required to be done. 2-3 times a week. on other days, they are asked to stay at home and work on documents. This avoid unnecessary exposure, if not required to be onsite on days of no lab work
3 must haves on resumes: Experience with bench work, MS degree in Biology with Immunology as one of the subjects, analytical thinking and some regulatory experience
Job Description Summary
Client Biosciences is a world leader in bringing innovative diagnostic and research tools to life
science researchers, clinical researchers, laboratory professionals and clinicians who are involved
in basic research, drug discovery and development, biopharmaceutical production and disease
management. The BD Biosciences segment is focused on continually advancing the science and
applications associated with cellular analysis.
BD Biosciences is seeking qualified candidates for a yearly contract in the R&D Reagents and
Assays Development organization at the BDB San Jose location. The BDB Reagent
Development Group focuses on providing differentiated reagent solutions that uncover truths in
biology and medicine. Teams of talented scientists and engineers are responsible for initiating
and driving the reagent and assay development projects and integrating assays and flow
cytometry instruments to create the next-generation of research and clinical Flow Cytometry
platforms. Products include cell analyzers, cell sorters, reagents, assays, and software.
Job responsibilities may include hands-on laboratory testing and troubleshooting of
instrumentation, preparation of biological samples, analysis of flow cytometry data, preparation
of documentation to support findings, or test method development. The candidate will be
performing work under the supervision of a manager/project lead who will define deliverables;
meet with a senior leadership mentor; participate in project team meetings and be responsible for
documenting and presenting research findings.
Primary Responsibilities
Independently design experimental approaches to assess viability and feasibility of new reagents
and assays.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and analyses of
R&D projects.
Maintain strong understanding of state-of-the-art science and technology development in the
industry.
Perform data analysis and reporting of flow cytometry clinical samples across a variety of
cytometry assays.
Provide technical expertise, leadership and support for flow cytometry operations for assay/result
troubleshooting.
Effectively coordinate with other functional areas associated with the R&D activities, including
Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs, Business Development,
etc.
Participate in interactions with regulatory agencies. Provide technical input into safety and
regulatory interactions.
Write and review standard operating procedures and policies for the department.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Minimum B.S. degree in Biology, Immunology, Biomedical engineering and other Biological
majors and minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical reference laboratories, academic research,
pharma industry, contract research organizations, clinical research, or other relevant industry
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint Lab skills, including pipetting, working with blood, cells or other sample types Experienced in bench-testing and has effective analytical and problem-solving skills Extremely motivated and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, hard-working and
multidisciplinary team
Proven experience in process excellence in an R&D environment Experience with sample prep and experiment design for multi-parameter flow cytometry
applications
Desired Qualifications
M.S. or PhD in Biology, Immunology, Biomedical engineering and other Biological majors Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in immunology, hematology and/or clinical chemistry in
the clinical, research and pharmaceutical environment
Experience in IVD product development Strong, proven product development knowledge of processes, measures, etc. (phase-gated
development systems)
Knowledge of Flow Cytometry instruments and applications Knowledge of clinical and/or research laboratory environment and quality control procedures Contribute to design of experimental procedures and search literature for targeted information
