Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our expert team at the Respiratory Therapist Hospital, providing exceptional respiratory care on the night shift from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. This role plays a critical part in our hospital’s patient care team, assessing and managing respiratory needs, administering treatments, and responding to emergency situations. Salary: DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Mechanical ventilation management including both invasive and non-invasive methods. Perform breathing therapy and comprehensive patient respiratory assessments. Conduct postural drainage, percussion, and utilize bronchial hygiene techniques. Perform bedside pulmonary functions tests to monitor and assess respiratory conditions. Execute blood gas puncture and analysis while maintaining blood gas analyzers, including performing operator maintenance and quality controls. Respond swiftly to cardiac arrests and rapid response scenarios and proficiently perform CPR. Emergency endotracheal intubation of adult patients. Minimum Position Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital experience in respiratory therapy. Graduate from an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. Currently holds a valid New York State Respiratory Therapy license. Certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Current BLS/CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced qualifications such as NRP and ACLS are strongly recommended. Previous experience in a similar role in acute care or critical care settings. Prior experience with pediatric or neonatal ventilation preferred. Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and apply appropriate interventions. Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Skills: Strong clinical skills in respiratory care and therapy. Ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations. High level of proficiency in the use of respiratory equipment. Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
