Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Governance Analystto help drive our enterprise data governance strategy in alignment with the FirstBank Data Management Strategy, the EDM Council’s DCAM framework,and other industry’s best practices.This role will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance processes, policies, and metrics that ensure data is accurate, consistent, secure, and trusted across the organization. The role is a hybrid of business, risk management governance and technical skills with a primary focus on data stewardship, data knowledge, quality, and proper utilization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Support the enterprise data governance program capabilities related to governance structure, data quality, metadata, and data ownership. Assist with the definition and maintenance of data policies, standards, and guidelines in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. Partner with data stewards, business SMEs, and IT to catalog critical data elements (CDEs), establish ownership, and document metadata. Facilitate the data issue management process, including triaging, tracking, and resolution. Conduct data quality assessments and support the development of rules and metrics to measure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Assist in lineage mapping and metadata capture to improve transparency and data trust. Contribute to risk and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring data practices support privacy, security, and audit requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize data governance initiatives and support adoption through training, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to identify and build program metrics to track program progress Participate in periodic DCAM self-assessments and maturity evaluations to identify gaps and track progress. Education And/or Experience College degree in computer science, business administration, finance, or relevant technical, data governance or regulatory compliance experience 5+ years of experience in either data governance, risk management, audit, regulatory compliance, or equivalent relevant work experience within a regulated financial services company Experience with data governance and data management and working familiarity of DCAM or similar industry best practice standards Skills And Abilities Self-directed and self-driven with the ability to work at both a strategic and tactical level Demonstrated strong problem-solving capabilities Solid written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application development skills Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data management tools and practices Data Analysis capabilities to include Data Profiling, Data Quality and Frequency Distribution Working technical expertise with SQL/SAS/Python Ability to learn additional systems as needed Familiarity with data quality issues and Exact, Transform, Load (ETL) processes Ability to present technical information to business partners Strong ability to review and analyze data, and identify and resolve problems Experience managing stakeholders is preferred Prior Jack Henry system experience a plus Banking Data Domain expertise including hands on experience and analysis of lending, deposit, and investment data is preferred Understanding of data architecture practices is a plus FirstBank does not accept unsolicited resumes from agencies and staffing firms.
