1898 & Co. 1898 & Co., a division of Burns & McDonnell, is seeking a Senior Solution Architect focused on Operational Technologies to provide utility grid modernization consulting services for electric utility clients. The candidate will join the Enterprise System & Integration team, delivering high-value enterprise solutions using leading technologies. The role requires strong electric utility business and technology expertise, focusing on solutions like ADMS, DERMS, IEC-61850 Digital Substations, BESS, and related networks including LAN, WAN, and FAN. The candidate must demonstrate project execution skills, leadership, collaboration, excellent communication, continuous improvement focus, and attention to detail. The Senior Enterprise Systems Solution Architect will provide strategic guidance, roadmapping, research, planning, and leadership in technology investments aligned with the client's long-term vision. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing complex technology solutions, leading project activities, estimating and budgeting, supporting project management methodologies, ensuring quality, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff. The role also involves participating in sales, marketing, proposal development, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree). Skills in architecture and integration, including data, cloud, middleware, and communication architectures. Understanding of current and emerging technologies in IT and OT domains. Experience with project execution methodologies and industry-standard tools. Experience with enterprise and operational technologies in electric utilities, such as OMS, ADMS, AMI, DERMS, IEC-61850, SCADA, Fiber, FAN networks. Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This position is open until filled, with a minimum posting duration of 72 hours.
