Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in SQL Server to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions, including writing queries and stored procedures to support various applications and business processes. The Development DBA will collaborate closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support application functionality, data retrieval, and manipulation. Collaborate with software developers to provide guidance on database design and query optimization to ensure high performance and scalability. Analyse application requirements and translate them into efficient database structures and queries. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, database bottlenecks, and other technical problems. Monitor database systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and data integrity. Implement and maintain security best practices to safeguard sensitive data. Assist in database capacity planning and scalability efforts as applications grow. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in SQL Server database technologies. Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on SQL Server development. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing. Strong experience in query optimization and performance tuning. Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques. Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and database change management tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Development, or similar, are a plus.
