Job Title: DBA Manager
Location: CA (onsite) (prefer local to CA)
Minimum Experience: 15-20 years
Job Summary:
A highly skilled DBA Manager with extensive multi-database and cloud expertise, leadership experience, and relevant certifications aligned to their technology stack and organizational needs, responsible for SQL Server, Oracle EBS databases, and cloud-based infrastructure across OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and Azure with comprehensive role covering database management, optimization, security, and cloud operations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of DBAs responsible for SQL Server, Oracle EBS, MySQL databases, and cloud-based infrastructure across OCI and Azure.
Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL databases in both on-premise and cloud environments.
Ensure database high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), performance tuning, and proactive health checks across platforms.
Manage resource utilization in OCI and Azure, forecast usage, monitor cloud credit consumption, and support decisions related to renewals and cost optimization.
Administer MySQL instances across standalone, clustered, and cloud environments, including backup/recovery and replication strategies.
Support Azure-based services including Azure SQL, MySQL Flexible Server, Azure Database for MySQL, and Oracle on Azure VMs.
As part of Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite) Admin support activities
Administer jobs to start and stop EBS components.
Implement change management processes for updates and patching.
Drive production support and troubleshoot technical issues related to Oracle EBS environment.
Coordinate with DBAs and technical teams for complex infrastructure and backend issues
Drive database automation using Shell, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or native OCI/Azure tools.
Coordinate cloud migration strategies and hybrid deployments across MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
Work with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.
Maintain security compliance, access control, audit logging, and support DR testing and audit readiness.
Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, internal teams, and offshore support to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
Required skills
Proven leadership in managing DBA teams and stakeholder coordination.
Coordinating with clients, Oracle Support, vendors, third-party service providers, technical developers, DBAs, and business users to ensure proper governance
Good understanding of ITIL processes, ticketing systems, and release/change management
Possess advanced technical expertise but also significant leadership and managerial skills to lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of DBAs effectively, ensuring enterprise database environments are reliable, secure, and optimized.
SQL Server DBA expertise: High availability, performance tuning, T-SQL, clustering, Always On, and backups.
Oracle DBA experience: RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and Oracle EBS R12 tech stack.
MySQL DBA expertise: Configuration, replication (master-slave, group replication), query tuning, and backup strategies.
Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Autonomous DB, DB Systems, Exadata, VCN, and security.
Solid working knowledge of Azure Cloud Services: Azure SQL, Azure Database for MySQL, IaaS VMs, and cost governance.
Familiarity with hybrid and cloud-native database architecture and migration best practices.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 15-20 years of experience with managing a team of DBAs and decision-making
Hands-on experience managing and optimizing multiple database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle (including Oracle EBS), MySQL.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure management, especially on platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure.
Proven skills in database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Experience in leading and mentoring DBA teams, managing projects, and collaborating cross-functionally.
Strong knowledge of database security, compliance, and cloud governance
