Washington, DC, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Office and Membership Services Assistant. This is a
full-time, in-person, temp-to-hire
opportunity perfect for someone who enjoys front-facing service, supporting internal operations, and contributing to meaningful mission-driven work. Position Highlights: Monday–Friday, standard office hours (on-site in Washington, DC) Closed on major holidays Temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established nonprofit Support membership, HR, and finance functions Key Responsibilities: Reception & Front Office Greet visitors and answer incoming calls with professionalism and warmth Direct callers to the appropriate staff members Maintain cleanliness of high-touch areas in the reception space Administrative Support Enter and clean up membership data Assist with processing dues and personal contributions Coordinate with the Database Manager to resolve member account access issues Finance & Office Coordination Prepare outgoing checks and distribute paystubs at the request of Finance Submit daily status updates to the Director of HR and Membership Services Provide additional administrative support on special projects as needed Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or administrative training preferred 1+ year of experience in office administration, reception, or customer service Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); database experience a plus Strong communication skills and professional demeanor Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay organized in a fast-paced setting Why Work With Schechter Reed?
