Description:
You will be the Associate General Counsel - Director to lead the legal portfolio as part of the Senior Leadership for the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG), covering F-16, F-22, and T-50 programs, based in Fort Worth, TX.
What You Will Be Doing:
Providing legal counsel to Aeronautics’ company and program leaders, supporting all IFG programs including F-16, F-22, and T-50 aircraft. Collaborating with leadership on strategy and operational issues, directly supporting the IFG General Manager and senior staff. The position requires on-site presence for close collaboration.
Preparing contract language, advising on contract and subcontract terms, and analyzing and mitigating legal risks on contracts valued in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars. Drafting, reviewing, and modifying letters of intent, memoranda of understanding, and related agreements with foreign governments and domestic/international subcontractors.
Participating in negotiations with U.S. and foreign government legal counsel, subcontractors, and suppliers on complex legal matters. Assisting with negotiations and settlements of major prime contracts, teaming agreements, and supplier negotiations. International travel may be required.
Applying extensive knowledge of U.S. and international government and commercial contracts to achieve business objectives, resolve legal issues, and mitigate risks.
Contributing to program teams that pursue and execute new and existing programs, develop claims, and meet business goals.
Handling site-specific issues related to facilities and compliance as needed.
Managing outside legal counsel for specialized issues, claims, disputes, and litigation arising from IFG programs and contracts.
Engaging with outside counsel to ensure successful outcomes and manage costs related to claims defense.
Resolving lawsuits and reducing financial risks to the company.
Advising internal organizations on compliance obligations such as FAR disclosures and contract compliance.
Conducting internal investigations, interfacing with government agencies on external investigations, subpoenas, and inquiries, including criminal investigations.
Coordinating with corporate legal on complex issues like financing, taxes, contracts, and risk management, including aviation liability and aircraft mishaps.
Collaborating with legal colleagues and leadership within the legal department.

Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a U.S. DoD SECRET clearance, with successful passing of background and drug checks.
J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in the U.S.
Significant experience in U.S. and foreign government contracts, especially in aerospace and defense industries.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Foreign Military Sales and direct commercial contracting with foreign governments.
Legal expertise in claims, subcontractors, manufacturing, costs, compliance, and investigations.
Aircraft mishap experience.
Security Clearance:
Top Secret with investigation or CI within 5 years. Must be a U.S. citizen.
