Amazon QuickSight enables customers to find data insights through dashboards, reporting, and Q (our GenAI capabilities). Our mission is to increase business user productivity by integrating data, systems, business intelligence, and GenAI capabilities, emphasizing high performance, scalability, and low cost. This role focuses on developing QuickSight SPICE, our analytical engine that quickly and efficiently answers customer queries. You will work on components across the query engine, semantic layer, and distributed systems, impacting our technical direction and product roadmap. You will collaborate with customers and teams, with ample opportunities to learn, grow, and lead. Key job responsibilities
Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and working software solutions. Code and test system components; participate in code and design reviews. Ensure end-to-end code quality, including system tests, functional tests, and integration. Collaborate across teams and roles to deliver results. Own the system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance. Mentor other engineers, define the technical culture, and help grow the team. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship). Proficiency in at least one programming language. Experience in designing or architecting systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling. Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
