Job Description:
The Senior Systems & Domain Administrator serves as the technical administrator primarily responsible for managing and monitoring the messaging and domain infrastructure in the Division of Information Technology
Responsibilities:
- Microsoft Entra/O365 Administrator: Support and maintain the institutions MS Entra and O365; perform necessary maintenance, troubleshoot and repair messaging problems, implement proper archival and disaster recovery procedures, administer user accounts and mailbox stores.
- Domain Administration: Support and maintain the institution's active directory infrastructure. Ensure synchronization between the institution's identity management infrastructure and Office 365 email infrastructure.
- DNS: Support and maintain the institution's internal and external DNS via Active Directory domain controllers and f5 systems.
- VMWare Administrator: Implement, configure, maintain, and support BSU's virtual infrastructure.
- Maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise communication
systems/servers; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging the infrastructure. - Collaborate with systems and network staff to ensure smooth and reliable
operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives
and processes. - Design and perform enterprise communication server and system self-audits.
- Create and maintain operational, change management, and security documentation as it relates to the messaging infrastructure, active directory configuration, mapping, processes, patch, maintenance, and service records
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of messaging and domain infrastructure with critical business applications, learning management, and computing systems.
- Conduct research on and evaluate hardware, software, and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Minimum of 5 years lead technical experience in required skills
- Working experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Horizon.
- Working experience with Enterprise backup solutions.
- BS in Computer Science or closely related field required.
- Microsoft Certification: MCTS, MCITP, Microsoft Certified Master, Microsoft Certified Architect.
- Working experience with Dirsync, Cisco UCS, and technologies related to key responsibilities.
- Knowledge of various software products including Microsoft Office, Visio, MS Project, Windows Server, VPN, SSL, DNS, WINS, Outlook, SharePoint.
