Make an Impact Where It Matters Most As a SWE-3, you will lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of complex software systems. These systems span a range of domains-from real-time analytics and large-scale data processing to business management systems and custom application frameworks. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, contribute to architectural decisions, debug software, and ensure mission systems meet performance, scalability, and security standards. Key Responsibilities Analyze user requirements to derive system design and performance expectations Design, develop, test, and deploy new software features and enhancements Debug, maintain, and optimize existing codebases across multiple environments Integrate third-party or legacy software into new or evolving architectures Develop software using C, C++, Python, JavaScript, Perl, and other modern languages Apply Agile development practices and leverage Git for version control Document design decisions, development efforts, and test results Develop both relational and non-relational database-driven applications Use orchestration and messaging frameworks such as Spring and Kafka Implement and optimize complex algorithms for performance and resource efficiency Contribute to continuous integration and DevSecOps workflows Perform Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation and system configuration Build and deploy cloud-native or containerized solutions (e.g., Docker) Provide leadership or guidance to development teams, ensuring technical standards and quality are upheld Core Technologies & Skills Programming Languages: C, C++, Python, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby Development Tools: Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code Frameworks & Libraries: Spring, Kafka, J2EE Databases: SQL, NoSQL, relational and non-relational systems Version Control: Git Operating Systems: Unix/Linux Scripting: Bash, Shell Scripting Orchestration & Messaging: Kafka, queueing systems CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, containerization Collaboration Tools: JIRA, Confluence (Atlassian suite) Architecture Models: Event-driven, data-driven, cloud-native systems Best Practices: Agile methodologies, code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization Qualifications: Minimum Required: Clearance: TS/SCI with FS Polygraph Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Candidates must meet one of the following: Master's degree in Computer Science (or related) + 5 years of SWE experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related) + 7 years of SWE experience 9+ years of professional experience as a SWE on similar programs of scope and complexity Preferred Qualifications Experience leading software teams or acting as a technical mentor Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and modern DevOps practices Prior work integrating Open Source, COTS, or GOTS components Exposure to scientific computing, algorithm modeling, or large-scale system design Comfort reviewing peer code, optimizing algorithms, and maintaining robust test suites Compensation Range: $215,000.00 - $237,000.00 *The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
