About the Role
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is seeking an experienced Sr. Avaya Programmer to join their telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Avaya systems and a proven background in telecommunications support and project management.
This position involves high-level support, liaising with vendors, problem-solving critical systems issues, and maintaining communication infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between MCSO and telecom vendors (e.g., Windstream, Avaya).
Lead or contribute to management studies and special telecom projects.
Interface with departments to support the Sheriff's Office network infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve equipment and network issues.
Install and test system upgrades and new hardware.
Maintain documentation, perform inventory checks, and routine maintenance.
Respond to urgent job assignments, including after-hours support if required.
Attend internal and external meetings as a division representative.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or voice communications analyst role.
Strong knowledge of Avaya System Programming.
Certified in Avaya System Manager/Session Manager.
Experience with project management principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lead or work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
Cisco training or certification.
Education / Certification
Avaya Programming Certificate required.
