You will report directly to the Sensing, Guidance and Navigation Center of Excellence (COE) Senior Engineering Director, and you'll work out of either our Plymouth or Ridgway, Minnesota location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the strategic direction of engineering activities, drive innovation, and set clear objectives and expectations for your team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic direction for engineering activities, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve business objectives.
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage and optimize engineering resources, budgets, and timelines.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Develop a high-performing engineering team.
Control Engineering department expense budget.
Ensure program cost and schedule adherence (program EAC and milestone performance).
Identify and mitigate risks.
Interact with customers (internal and external) at a leadership level.
Collaborate with GBE teams to develop product roadmaps, STRAP inputs, and customer pursuits.
Facilitate the development/training of engineering resources.
Drive management operating systems that ensure project performance in accordance with internal and external stakeholder requirements.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering, physics, or material science
10+ years of experience in engineering management and systems integration.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, systems integration, and project management.
Proficiency in engineering tools and technologies relevant to sensing and navigation systems.
WE VALUE
Advanced Engineering degrees such as MS in Engineering, or MBA.
Experience in leading complex engineering projects in the aerospace or defense sectors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
