Position Summary We are looking for a Senior SQL Developer with extensive experience in T-SQL (SQL Server) and PL/pgSQL (PostgreSQL), specifically within Industrial IoT (IIoT) environments. In this role, youll play a critical part in building, optimizing, and maintaining robust, scalable database solutions that power real-time analytics and decision-making across manufacturing and industrial operations. Youll work with high-velocity sensor data, industrial telemetry, and control systems to enable smarter factory processes and predictive maintenance initiatives.
*This position is onsite/hybrid in Norcross, GA Design, implement, and maintain complex SQL logic (stored procedures, triggers, UDFs, views) in SQL Server and PostgreSQL to support IIoT applications. Manage and optimize data ingestion from edge devices, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and OPC-UA (Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture) sources into structured databases. Develop and tune high-performance queries for dashboards, real-time monitoring, and historical analysis. Collaborate with data engineers, OT/IT (Operational and Information Technology) teams, and software developers to integrate IIoT data across systems. Support data warehousing solutions for time-series data and long-term storage strategies. Contribute to data modeling and schema design for industrial asset tracking, telemetry, and event-driven systems. Implement and maintain ETL pipelines, including data normalization and aggregation from large-scale sensor networks. Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across industrial datasets. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Engineer. Proven expertise in T-SQL and PL/pgSQL, including procedural logic and optimization. Hands-on experience handling high-volume, time-series, or telemetry data in industrial or manufacturing settings. Strong understanding of relational and time-series database design, with emphasis on performance tuning and scalability. Familiarity with IIoT protocols and systems such as MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, SCADA, Sparkplug B, or similar. Experience with data integration from edge devices, sensors, or industrial gateways. Proficiency in using performance profiling tools and execution plans in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Other Preferred Qualifications: Degree in technical filed including Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related. Experience working with time-series databases (e.g., TimescaleDB, InfluxDB) or integrating them with RDBMS solutions. Experience with cloud-based relational database services, such as Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and Azure SQL Database / Azure Database for PostgreSQL. Exposure to stream processing frameworks (e.g., NATS, Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Flink). Exposure to DevOps for database CI/CD, version-controlled schema changes (e.g., Liquibase, Flyway), and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of data governance, traceability, and industrial compliance standards. Key Characteristics Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data concepts for operational and engineering teams. Proven ability to work in cross-functional industrial teams (IT/OT convergence). Detail-oriented and self-driven with a strong commitment to quality and reliability.
