nWhat we’re looking for:
nProvide advanced process control (APC) technical expertise to support the design, configuration, implementation, and online performance assessment of the Regional APC applications. Assist Operations in driving value from the application and keep the APC applications in a well-ordered state with high online time.

Responsible for Advanced Control Applications (APC) in the assign processing units/site (s).

Identify APC use opportunities and evaluate economic incentives.

Develop, Design, Commission and Tune APC controllers.
n n - n
Build and implement inferential models where need be.
n n - n
Collaborate with Operation teams to develop the pre-APC baseline measurements of performance to be used for evaluating the APC application performance and value.

Central participant in the Analysis, Design, Revamping and Tuning of existing multivariable constraint control applications.
n n - n
Lead the effort to drive value from APC applications’ use and maintain high availability of APC applications along with APC models and tuning.

Perform Post-Implementation Audit of APC performance and track ongoing APC performance.

Participate on Six Sigma teams to evaluate and implement identified projects.

Maintain expertise in process and process control matters related to assigned units through participation in professional meetings, trade shows, continuing education opportunities, and publications.

Facilitate compliance with alarm system management policies and standards, for assigned process units. This may include leadership of the operational review meetings, and activities to rationalize alarm settings and priorities to meet KPI targets.

Participate in the plant Behavior Based Safety Process.

Train operators on process control changes.
n n - n
Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).

Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.

Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

Assist other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follow instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participate in and complete company required training programs.

What are we looking for in the Ideal candidate?

Bachelor of Science degree required; Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, other BS degrees such as Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science may be considered if paired with experience in Advanced Process Control applications; Master or PhD in related field is a plus.

Minimum of 8 years of process control engineering experience in a petrochemical or refining industry setting required, with at least 3 years of Advanced Process Control experience preferred.

10+ years of process control engineering experience, including 5 years of Advanced Process Control experience in a petrochemical or refining industry setting is preferred.

Advanced Process Control engineering experience highly preferred

Experience with a commercial DCS system commonly used in the petrochemical or refining industries required.

Experience with process engineering in the petrochemical or refining industries required.
n n - n
Aptitude with relevant industry computer applications
n n - n
MUST HAVE or be able to obtain TWIC card.
n n - n
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail, and other technical or business relevant applications.

Preferred familiarity with either Emerson DeltaV and/or Foxboro I/A distributed control system (DCS).
