The Sr. Risk Manager, Site Risk leads complex cross-functional risk methodology for Amazon's global operations, reporting to the Senior Manager, AMER Site Risk. This role drives strategic risk reduction programs, develops comprehensive risk management frameworks, and serves as the primary interface between business units, legal teams, and external regulators. The position requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong stakeholder management skills to navigate complex risk scenarios while maintaining Amazon's customer-centric focus.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and implement risk management methodologies and strategic frameworks Lead cross-functional risk programs and reduction strategies Define and measure program objectives using quantifiable metrics (KPIs/KRIs) Partner with legal teams on regulatory compliance and policy development Create and present executive-level documentation and reports Manage cross-functional partnerships and stakeholder relationships Oversee control implementation, audits, and effectiveness testing Drive data-driven decision making through metrics and risk visibility Ensure compliance with legal reporting requirements Develop and maintain risk dashboards and reporting systems Lead training initiatives and awareness sessions Establish and maintain SOPs and process controls

As a central figure in Amazon's risk methodology across AMER, you'll focus on safeguarding people, operations, assets, and brand through risk analysis, mitigation deployment, and training. You'll support front-line operations and develop cross-functional programs that enhance welfare and life safety.

About The Team
Risk Management is part of Risk and Resilience and the AMER Security & Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. We provide Risk Management support to Operations across AMER. You will engage on a daily basis with business stakeholders and members of the S&LP team. Risk is central to our vision, strategy and objectives.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) certification Experience with Data Mining Software, not limited but including Minitab, ESRI, Quicksite Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements Experience presenting to senior leadership Track record of implementing successful risk management programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
