About the Role The Sr. Software Engineer, Application & Back End is key member of the team and will create, evolve, maintain, and support software, systems, and infrastructure for the following areas: medical device data upload, processing, and storage; medical device administration, including remote software deployment; CI/CD pipeline for medical device software; tools for manufacturing medical devices; analysis and visualization of device and treatment data. To Make an Impact, You Will: Develop, deploy, maintain, and monitor cloud based (AWS), Linux server based (on-prem), and PC (Win) based applications, tools, web apps, and APIs/services. Create, maintain, and help monitor the CI/CD pipeline for medical device software. Create, execute, capture results from test plans for the above. Document the above for regulatory compliance. Interact daily with the entire software team including electrical and mechanical engineers, manufacturing, operations, and pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial reps across the company. To Excel, You Will Bring: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent. 5+ years in software development Experience in remote, distributed teams. Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies. Experience in medical device industry is preferred. Experience with regulatory compliance, specifically FDA/EMA medical devices preferred. Mastery of Python, bash. Solid knowledge of JSON/XML/YAML, SQL. Knowledge of C/C++. Rust is a plus. Solid knowledge of Linux administration, Linux application development. Solid knowledge of AWS: lambda, EC2, S3, Dynamo, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS, VPC, etc. Solid knowledge of web app development and web app technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, Node, Nginx, REST). Knowledge of GUI frameworks (Swing, GTK, Qt, Tcl/Tk). Solid knowledge of git and GitHub/Bitbucket. Excellent programming, troubleshooting, debugging, testing skills, in multi-language, distributed, concurrent, and event driven environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate at a requirement and use case level. Able to manifest a non-developer, user’s and tester’s mindset. Able to multitask and juggle conflicting and changing priorities. Able conscientiously and with minimal direction, using good judgement, taking initiative to accomplish short and long-range projects, and recommending actions with minimal direction. Able to lift 10-15 pounds. Pay Range: Compensation is determined based on a wide range of factors including location, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. This pay range is specific to Northern California location.
