FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Evenings
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 / hour. Pay is based on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Educator to play a crucial role in developing and delivering orientation, continuing education, and competency assessments for Sterile Processing Technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with department leaders and staff to evaluate the learning needs and competencies of Sterile Processing personnel.
- Create, coordinate, and implement competency assessments for new hires during orientation.
- Monitor and document the progress of new hires throughout their orientation, providing support and remediation as needed.
- Develop and implement required competencies and continuing education resources for Sterile Processing staff.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must obtain CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) certification within one year. Preferred: CRCST at hire for candidates with direct sterile processing experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing or as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, valid before start date and for 60 days post-hire.
