The University Unions Student Programs Office is currently hiring several Programming Assistant positions for the Fall 2025 with employment continuing in the Summer/Fall. The Programming Assistants provide customer service (both in person and over the phone) and reception support to the students and staff of the University Unions Student Programs Office and Campus Events + Entertainment (E+E). The office is open Monday to Friday 8:30AM - 7PM. Pay Rate: based on hourly wage (10-15 hours per week assignment at $10 hourly rate) Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities vary, but may include: Serving as the Student Programs Office information desk attendant and first point of contact for all visitors, callers, and guests. Providing accurate information and enthusiastic service to office visitors and callersparticularly as it pertains to E+E programs, events, and services. Overseeing key distribution for student organizations' locker and office space. Keeping the office neat and organized. Maintaining the Texas Union 2nd and 4th floor poster boards. Completing special projects as assigned by E+E advisors and staff. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Experience with computer hardware and software, including mobile devices. Preferred Qualifications: Outgoing person with excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of the University Unions, campus life, and Austin community. Familiarity with multi-channel phones. Attention to detail and good listening skills. In addition to the requirements for the position, you must meet the following requirements to be considered for all positions in the University Unions: Be a current student at The University of Texas at Austin or other college/university and be registered for at least six (6) credit hours last semester.
