Location: Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital Address: 933 E. Pierce St. - Council Bluffs, IA Student Rad Tech will start beginning to middle of September. This is a casual/prn position. Casual employees work on an 'as needed' basis to meet the needs of the business. Shifts may vary from week to week. Will also be required to be available to work weekends and holidays. Supports the department in daily department needs while learning the workflow for advanced medical imaging. Essential Job Functions
CT Scan & MRI Departments Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner. Provides patient education and responds to patient and customer concerns. Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction. CT Scan Department Performs limited diagnostic radiographic procedures within scope of license. Radiographic procedures must not include CT, administration of contrast media, fluoroscopy or mammography. Complete documentation of patient x-ray record and Quality Control processes. MRI Department Assists the MRI technologist with procedures within the scope of their job skills and licensure. Ensures that supplies needed for the technologists are appropriately maintained, stock supplies Communicate with patients and prepare them for the exam Escorting, assisting patients in and out of wheel chairs, transferring patients on and off stretchers. Transporting patients throughout imaging department. Assist with room turn over, cleaning, and lifting equipment required. Discussing medical history from patients, family members and nursing staff, answering phones. Utilize proper infection control practices per the department procedure manual. Ensure the safety of patients, visitors and employees. Complete mandatory MRI safety training. Complete documentation of patient MRI safety screening form. Job Requirements
Education Current enrollment in a degree program of Radiologic Technology. Experience N/A License/Certifications Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities N/A Physical Requirements
